Physical fitness buffs and dieters around the world have been adding supplements to their routines for many years. Today dieters are adding weight loss fat burners to their regimen.
However, do they work? Will adding fat burning supplements help get the body into top physical shape.

Carbs and Fat Blockers
These types of supplements aid in losing weight because they help to block the carbs and fat in the foods you eat. Typical fat blockers contain Chitosan and most carb blockers contain phaseolamin.
Carb and fat blockers work by binding the nutrient in the digestive tract. Chitosan has been shown to be able to absorb up to 7x its weight.
In general, carb and fat blockers can be helpful when dieting. If the urge to eat junk foods hits, a carb or fat blocker can be useful; however, they should not be used as an excuse to binge on junk which I would never recommend!
Thermogenics and Stimulants
Thermogenic supplements are probably the most popular weight loss fat burners. They are among the most expensive and most advanced supplements available.
Typically thermogenic supplements are made with stimulants such as caffeine which are supposed to increase metabolism and cause the body to burn more calories.
Some thermogenic contain ephedrine and ephedra, herbals which have been shown to promote fat burning and increase energy.
Guarana is often combined with caffeine in fat burning supplements. The combination of the two create energy and promote fat burning in the body. Caffeine has also been shown to suppress the appetite.
The downside to thermogenics is that they create energy which can lead to insomnia and restlessness. People who have high blood pressure should not take thermogenic supplements as they can increase the blood pressure.
Thyroid Supplements
The thyroid manages the body’s metabolism; therefore, adding a supplement that increases the amount of thyroxin the thyroid gland produces. By increasing the thyroxin levels the metabolism will increase and the result of exercise and diets are increased and more fat is lost.
Essential Fatty Acids (CLA & EFA)
CLA and EFA are essential fatty acids that are available as supplements. CLA can create anti-catabolic actions which can increase muscle mass and lower body fat levels.
EFA acts as a thermogenic to increase fat burning in the body. As the metabolism increases the body will lose more fat.
Appetite Suppressants
Appetite suppressants have been on the market for many years, both over the counter and prescription. These are used to suppress the appetite which makes diets easier to adhere to and weight loss easier.
Weight loss fat burners and any type of supplement should be used with care as they often cause restlessness and sometimes anxiety. However if used with care they can be great assets in the quest for a physically fit body.
