Tom Venuto's Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle was created to teach people all they need to know about losing body weight while retaining, or even gaining muscle. Many fitness experts have touted this book as simply the greatest fat loss book ever.

At 340 pages, Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle is not a book to sit down and expect to read chapter by chapter in one sitting. It is sold as an E-book and can be printed or read from the computer. Printing it out is a good idea due to its size – that way it could be referred to even when away from the computer.

Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle is not a body building book, but it  book does explain why muscle building exercises are important for fat burning, plus it teaches you how to lose fat while at the same time preventing muscle loss.

Tom doesn't use the book to make promises about quick fixes or overnight success. He stresses that fitness is not just about weight loss and that weight loss is not to be confused with fat loss. He stresses the importance of lifestyle changes in the process of burning fat in order to live healthier lives even after attaining fat loss goals.

Tom uses the book to stress the importance of goal setting and how it affects health and fitness. Without a goal, written down and concrete, attaining the physical fitness and fat loss goals are harder. However, working towards a goal is motivating and helps attain success in the program.

Before delving into the nitty gritty aspects of fat loss and muscle building, Tom helps users identify their body types. Too many fitness trainers treat everyone's body as if it were the same, which, as Tom explains, is simply not true. Knowing your body type is the first step in knowing how to mold it into the best it can be.

Nutritionally, the book is rock solid, covering everything from how much liquid the body needs to how much and what types of food the body needs.

He goes into great detail, using fifteen chapters to cover nutrition. Starting with how to balance calories in order to lose fat and how often meals should be eaten to jump-start metabolism all the way through how to design effective meal menus that produce the results desired.

Tom spends a chapter discussing supplements and his take on whether or not they are useful. He tells you what he considers to be the only supplements needed, vitamins and minerals, and why the industry doesn't want you to know the truth about the hype behind supplements.

Finally, the book moves into the training portion of getting the body into top physical shape. Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle doesn't leave out the cardio training like some of the programs on the market that are attempting to create an easy workout – there is no such thing as an easy workout.

Fitness is a lifelong goal to be worked at, otherwise, the body is not at its optimal best and health suffers in the long run.
