Review by Mr. IT for Everlast Folding Sit-Up Bar

I’m gettng a “six-pack”. I never thought that I could say that. But having this wonderful sit-up bar so conveniently located in my bedroom has made the difference. It was so easy to install and is so easy to use that it practically became a part of my daily routine without my even realizing it. I especially like the way the bar flips up and out of the way when I’m done. This is one of the best investments in myself that I have ever made and I recommend it highly.

I bought this because I don’t like doing situps that much. My feet tend to move around and then pretty soon I am flopping around the floor not really doing any good.
This solves all that. You just slip it on the bottom of a door and do your sit-ups with it. Then you can fold it up after use and it’s almost completely out of the way. It holds your feet really well, and allows you to do sit-ups a lot easier (well the sit-ups are still hard).
It lost a star because when you are using it, if you are putting a lot of pressure on the bar (which you shouldn’t…but can if you get tired, etc) the door can be pulled out. If you had a solid door this wouldn’t be much of an issue. Also when you fold it up, the bolts touch the door, and it’s possibly after having it for awhile you could put little dents/scratches in the door.
Overall, it makes situps a pleasure to do again.

I just got this product (Sep 07), and am very happy with it. I was concerned about buying it due to one reveiw that stated it was top heavy and didn’t stay up when in the storage position. However, upon examination, there is a bolt in the hinge that can be tightened until it stores as you want it. This product was everything I was hoping it would be. Now, I have no excuses to get my stomach looking good. I will add that you will want to determine where you want to use this, and ensure you have enough room. Hallways don’t work, and furniture can get in your way. However, I’m sure you have enough doors in your house to find one with enough room.

On the surface this appears to be a great way to hold your feet in place when doing sit-ups and then it can flip out of the way for storage. Unfortunately, it does not have any way to lock in place for sit-ups and therefore does not hold your feet in place. Would NOT recommend.

This product works just fine. For those complaining that it doesn’t remain in the upright position, note that there is a nut and bolt that can be very easily adjusted with a wrench to tighten the torsion on the device.
