The Abdominal Bench Vs Other Abdominal Exercise Equipment
With the abdomen area being a key target for fitness and fitness equipment the most remarkable machines for abdominal fitness are the abdominal bench and other machines that target the abdominal muscles.
In addition to helping get you in the best physical shape possible, they are also engineered to limit back injury and other injuries that can occur from exercising. These pieces of equipment are perfect for individuals who want to get in shape and tone their abs at the same time.
The variety of the abdominal bench and other abdominal workout equipment is immense, with sports shops around the world offering many different types and fitness centers employing several types as well for members to use. It is totally up to the individual use to decide which one is best for their needs.

A few of the differing types of abdominal machines are listed here:
Abdominal Bench
Strength trainers know the abdominal bench or weight bench is the building block for all exercise equipment, particularly if the user is engaged in strength training. These benches are basically flat benches that are cushioned to support the back and can be used during workouts with dumbbells.
A true Abdominal bench can be tilted in various increments and have supports on the sides for securing the feet during sit-ups, an exercise known to target the abdominal muscle. The higher you tilt the bench the harder the resistance is.
Stretch Toner
Although not truly an abdominal bench, a stretch toner will produce similar results. These machines are small, portable exercise machines that focus on stretching the torso and abdomen muscles. The stretch toner also stretches the shoulders, arms, chest, back and hamstring, when a correct exercise routine is followed using the video that accompanies most stretch toners.
Stretch toners are creative pieces of exercise equipment that produce successful results. Stretch toners use a logical and methodical approach to conditioning the abdomen while also incorporating the overall safety of the user. While these machines are different from the abdominal bench, they offer similar results.
Inversion Tables
Another piece of equipment that can be used as an abdominal bench is the inversion table. These are perfectly designed to stretch the back and tone the abdominal muscles. Using an inversion table for an ab bench produces excellent results and also targets other muscles at the same time.
Although inversion tables aren’t typically seen in fitness clubs and gyms, they shouldn’t be discounted when looking for abdominal equipment.
There are many other types of abdominal bench and abdominal exercise machines on the market, those listed here are among the most popular.

Hi,
Thanks for sharing.
Actually I want to ask you something related with your post.
Can I get my six packs abs without using any abs equipment?
Maybe my second question is not too related with your post, but I really need to know about it. Is it true doing push up also can help us to get the six packs?
Thanks,
JoeR
Hi Joe,
You don’t need any exercise equipment to train the abs, but I would recommend a Swiss Ball as they are cheap and will allow you to do lots of great exercises, especially some great “core training” exercises. Ab benches and so on are great, but they are luxury that you could do without.
Any muscle building exercises that use a lot of upper body strength, such as push ups do use the abs to some extent, but I wouldn’t say they are Ab building exercises.
Thanks
Mark
